Friday's Flower

Blue Flax (perennial)
I took this photo on a much sunnier day.  We have had rain and cloudy skies for most of the week.  This morning the sun is trying to shine through the grey sky.  It may turn out to be a pleasant day after all.  In between the showers, I weeded and hilled up the potato plants which are beginning to get quite bushy.  It isn't my favourite gardening task, but I'm encouraged by the thought that we'll have something to look forward to at the end of the season when we dig up all those lovely, organic potatoes.

Sunday is a special day for Canadians.  We are celebrating 145 years as a nation.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

On a much sunnier, warmer morning

It is amazing to me how all the flowers, after being drenched so by the rain, instantly regain their joie de vivre and raise their pretty heads as soon as the sun comes out again.

Perennial Blue Flax

I am up early one morning. Outside the air feels cool although the sun has risen some time ago. The perennial flax are still sleeping, their sky-blue petals closed. There is barely a breeze, and if I am quick to collect my camera, perhaps I will be able to show you some pictures.
