Friday's Flower

Petunia
Enjoy the present moment.

In the Garden

Lilies and Rhubarb
 Rhubarb

common to many people worldwide

Rhubarb grows here as a perennial, and I eagerly anticipate its emergence every spring.  As soon as  I see a hint of new growth, I can almost taste its delicious, tart flavour.  Yesterday I made another batch of rhubarb jam to store away for those times during the winter when we are in need of something to remind us of spring.

Petunia - Pink Morn

As the White Rabbit in Alice's Adventures In Wonderland said,

"Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!"

Gotta go. There is a lot to do before our visitors arrive next month. I will be posting intermittently for a while.

Stay well and enjoy your summer.

Bedding Plants

Part of the fun and pleasure of gardening are the annual trips to the greenhouses which usually open in May here, depending on the weather. On one recent visit I bought some Petunias, one of my favourite flowers.

Happy Father's Day to all those wonderful Dads!

Hops Vine and Petunias - Today's Flowers

Last week I posted pictures of the hops flowers, and this week I thought I would show you the plant.
Window Box Petunias

Every spring I buy red petunias to plant in my window boxes. They are still doing well, even at this late date. This picture was taken one morning while I was sitting on a bench watching the birds at the feeders.
